Trade Show Sales – full time position – immediate opening

Trade Show Sales Job Description:
As a Trade Show Salesperson you will be responsible for the financial success of our public events. You will be responsible for selling the events by contacting former vendors and cold calling potential new vendors, acquire sponsorship and help build attendance. Your responsibility will be to foster and maintain relationships with key industry accounts to increase vendor sales and attendance by communicating the value of the event.

You will oversee all aspects of your events including booth sales, sponsorship sales, marketing, content development including education, special events, operational logistics and registration. Most of our contact is via phone in our office however travel by yourself will be mandatory at times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Increase revenues for assigned shows

  • Maintain high industry awareness; trends, customer relationships, distribution and competitive issues

  • Develop and implement strategic plans

  • Research for new vendors and event sponsors

  • Identify, develop and manage data base of vendors

  • Keep and maintain data base of media partners and advertising for assigned shows

  • Update Facebook accounts

  • Manage show floor plan

  • Work with industry clients and publications to garner support and sponsorships

  • Help to uncover and develop new events

  • Understand and practice our core values of honesty to our clients.

  • Complete other duties or projects assigned necessary to increase profits of the assigned shows.

  • Coordinate volunteers to help at events.

Qualifications:

  • Able to travel to events including weekends either driving or flying depending on distance.

  • Aggressive, highly motivated, honest person

  • Sales and/or Marketing background

  • Excellent organizational and planning skill; be able to anticipate needs and problems ahead of time.

  • Internet knowledge including Facebook, Twitter

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and events in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Communication skills: able to communicate effectively with management and with clients

  • Ability to translate client needs into well written business and event plans.

  • Quilting, Sewing, Embroidery, Crafts, Fiber Art industry knowledge would be a plus but not a necessity for the right person. Pet industry knowledge also a plus.

We produce consumer events in the quilting, sewing, craft and fiber art industry and a pet expo. The qualified candidate would be responsible for all of the shows, currently four shows in different parts of the US. We have health, life and dental insurance.
