Bernadette "Bernie" Griffith is an internationally recognized educator for embroidery digitizing software systems and machine embroidery and owner of Bertina Studio. In her time in the home sewing industry, she has authored numerous sewing and embroidery software workbooks, authored machine training manuals, produced several digitizing “How-To” videos and regularly hosted live digitizing software training webinars to an international audience.
Bernie’s projects and lessons have been published in Creative Machine Embroidery, CME Quilting & Embroidery, Sewing Professional, Designs in Machine Embroidery, and Embroidery Journal, covering embroidery techniques for quilting, home décor and clothing embellishment. If you are a "Quilt Central TV" fan, you may have seen her appearances on the show.
Bernie has taught at workshops, clinics and seminars for sewing and embroidery techniques at numerous venues throughout the United States and Australia. Her relaxed teaching style and unique approach to fabric embellishment make her classes both fun and informative, for beginners to advanced sewing enthusiasts.

Make Your Own Heirlooms
Hands on workshop using sewing machines – Limit 20
Class fee: $30 Kit fee $30
Fascinated by heirloom sewing techniques but wondering how you can incorporate them into more modern pieces? Then this is the class for you. We are going to look at heirloom sewing techniques and create a sampler piece. Techniques covered include how to use a Wing needle and a Twin needle, bobbin work with silk ribbon, thread and floss and decorative stitch techniques. Please bring scissors, marking pencils, and a clear, plastic ruler to class.
Kit fee will be paid directly to the instructor.

Totally Trapezoid
Hands on workshop using sewing machines – Limit 20
Class fee: $30 Kit fee: $35
We are going to create a very untraditional, quilted trapezoid purse, with plenty of shape and character to spare. The techniques used in class will cover simple appliqué, simple hand-look quilt stitches, piping in a fun and incredibly decorative way and inserting a purse handle. Kit fee includes all items needed to complete the project. Please bring small (curved if possible) scissors, marking pencils, and clear ruler to class.
Kit fee will be paid directly to the instructor.

In Between & On The Edge

Hands on workshop using sewing machines – Limit 20
Class fee: $20 Kit fee $30
In this class we're going to get creative with fabric tucks, twists, gathers, and more to create a unique purse/clutch. We will also learn how to insert a magnetic clasp, and how to use sewing machine accessory presser feet to their fullest potential. The purse pattern can be created in colors any teen would love or dressed up for evening use. Kit fee includes all materials needed to create the purse. Please bring marking pencils, ruler and scissors to class. Kit fee will be paid directly to the instructor.

Public Show
Vendor Sales
full time position – immediate opening
As a Public Show Salesperson you will be responsible for the financial success of our public expo events. You will be responsible for selling the expo by contacting former vendors and cold calling potential new vendors as well as sponsorship and help build attendance. Your responsibility will be to foster and maintain relationships with key industry accounts to increase vendor sales and attendance by communicating the value of the event. Candidate will also assist in expanding to different markets.
